documentary: The odyssey project

I’ve worked with City Care over the past few years, helping them create change in Oklahoma City. Here are three documentaries that debuted at their annual event, The Odyssey Project.

Spent a day on the streets in 2017 among Oklahoma City's homeless, documenting local artist Jabee Williams as he navigated the system without ID or money. Then in 2018, I captured Krystal Malone’s story of homelessness and redemption as she spoke with city councilwoman Meg Salyer.

And in 2019, the resilient Misty and Jayla shared their story.

Title Shot: Alex Saucedo's quest for the WBO belt

A behind-the-scenes look at the week leading up to the Alex Saucedo-Maurice Hooker title fight for the WBO junior welterweight world championship. It won a Telly Award for single documentary.

$20 AT OKC TACO TRUCKS

Short film produced one night in OKC chasing the concept of how far will $20 go at OKC’s taco trucks? Answer: quite far. And you’ll enjoy the journey!

BUILDING STUDIOS

While working as video host and Director of Video for The Oklahoman, I designed multiple video and audio studios. Our most recent studio was street-side at the corner of Robinson and Sheridan in downtown Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoman's studios in downtown Oklahoma City feature multiple sets for interviews and production work. The studio faces into the newsroom and to the street.

Design

The design used inspiration from sets used by the BBC and France 24, along with some ideas borrowed from national networks to incorporate the street views.
